Amazon opens biggest Global Campus in India

Amazon the largest e-commerce company has opened its biggest campus in Hyderabad only second after its office in United States. This is also Amazon’s first own office space and has a seating capacity of 15,000 employees. The campus is spread in 9.5 acres and is the single-largest building of the company across the world.

In 2004, the company began its operation in India and has 62,000 fulltime employees that is more than its technical base in Seattle. Amazon also has more than 1.55 lakh contract employees and the campus will create Alexa pod experiment the Inside Day 1 Alexa Skill (Beta).

The building is designed to offer Agile-based atmosphere for the wellbeing of employees along with foster inclusion. In the past 15 years, the company has invested in 30 offices across India and this includes the AWS APAC Region in Mumbai, 50 Fulfillment Centers in 13 states, various delivery stations and sort centres while creating approximately 200,000 jobs in the country.

Amit Aggarwal, Amazon India manager said that the new building shows our commitment of our long-term business plans here. John Schoettler, vice-president of Amazon’s Global Real Estate and Facilities said that the largest building in Seattle can accommodate 5,000 employees and has a scope for growth.
