Russian Firm keen to invest funds in Aurangabad Industrial City

In order to boost the industrial zones in Maharashtra, a top Government official recently confirmed that many companies from Russia, China, and Japan have shown interest in investing Rs 1,250 crore in setting up their services at Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) developing in Maharashtra.

Giving more information on the above development, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) General Manager Gajanan Patil said, “Russia’s Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), manufacturers of high-quality steel products, and one of the largest steel company, is keen on investing Rs 1,000 crore for setting up a unit at AURIC-Shendra.”

He further said that representatives of NLMK Group recently held a meeting with us and sought permission to carry out feasibility testing for setting up their plant. They want to set up this facility on 75 acres of land for which we have assured all the possible support.

Apart from NLMK, Japan’s Fuji Silvertech which is a leading precast concrete manufacturing company is also planning to set up precast infrastructure unit in AURIC-Shendra with an investment of Rs 150 crore.

 “The Japanese company is looking to set up a unit on a 20-acre plot under the government’s ‘Make-in-India’ initiative. It already has a plant at Ahmedabad and is looking to meet the growing requirement of high-quality precast concrete products across India.” Patil added.

Adding to this, China’s Guangdong Baihe Medical Technology Co Ltd is also planning to invest 100 crores for setting up dialysis machine plant on 10 acres at AURIC-Shendra.

Aurangabad Industrial City (AURIC) is India’s well- planned and Greenfield smart industrial city being developed across an area of 10,000 acres in Maharashtra State, as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). Strategically located at Shendra and Bidkin near Aurangabad, an existing urban and industrial hub in the State, AURIC has all the potential to tap the industrial advancement within the region. The multi-billion dollar DMIC is the largest infrastructure and economic development program in the country’s history.
