GDA Plans to Take Control of Villages around Expressways

The Ghaziabad Development Authority [GDA] is planning to take control of nearly 77 villages near the two major expressways.

 

These Expressways are proposed to connect various towns with the Delhi via Ghaziabad. The GDA [Ghaziabad Development Authority] is soon going to submit a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh Government for taking the control of the villages located on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway [EPE] and Delhi-Meerut Expressway. This move by the Authority is likely to increase the work speed on these two major highways.

 

Out of these 77 villages, 31 are situated in the Baghpat district and the remaining fall under Loni and Modinagar locations of the national capital region alias NCR. Also, all these villages are located within a 500-metre distance of the upcoming expressways.

 

Both, the Delhi-Meerut and Eastern Peripheral Expressway are being developed by NHAI –National Highway Authority of India. The 270km long Peripheral Expressway will connect major cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Greater Noida, Baghpat and Sonipat with Delhi whereas the Delhi-Meerut Expressway will ease the traffic congestion while offering smooth ride upto Meerut.
