Rural Development Minister: Building 12,000+ Homes Under PMAY Scheme in Jammu & Kashmir

Abdul Haq Khan, the Rural Development Minister of Jammu and Kashmir said that the Government is building affordable homes with basic amenities in the rural areas of the State. The Minister further said that the department is constructing more than 12,000 homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna (Gramin) PMAY Scheme here.

 

The department has set the target of constructing 38,772 houses under PMAY and review the work status in a timely manner. Until now, the construction of 304 homes has been completed and construction work of the remaining homes is going on. According to an official, the construction of affordable homes will benefit 18,964 families.

 

Minister Abdul Haq Khan also directed the officials to increase the speed for completing the construction of homes within the given timeframe. He also added that the Jammu and Kashmir Government is working towards enhancing the living standards of the people here in the rural areas. Adding more, the Minister for Rural Development said that the Government is committed to providing clean water and pucca homes-enabled with basic amenities to the economically weaker section.
