Central Government approves 60,000 Affordable Homes in Pimpari-Chinchwad by 2022

The Pimpari-Chinchwad region will get 60,000 affordable housing units under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna [PMAY] Scheme. The Central Government gave its approval for the construction of affordable housing units under the PPP [Private Public Partnership] for the first –time.

 

According to this, the MHADA – Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority will administer construction of these homes in all eight zones of Pimpari Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. The State Government will focus on building 19.40 lakhs housing units by the year 2022.

 

The authority is currently inviting tenders from various builders which include the plan for this township which will have multiple towers. The selected tenders will go to the State Government for approval, out of which the builder with maximum apartment plan will get the contract.

 

The Pimpari-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will construct 10,000 affordable houses and the rest of 50,000 units have to be constructed by the private builder. Similarly, the PCMC will finalize the price for 50 percent housing units and the private builder has to decide pricing for the remaining units.

 

2.5 FSI has been allocated for this project which has to be completed in the span of next four years i.e. 2022.
